‘Tone Deaf’ and ‘Wrong’: Steve Doocy Calls Out Biden Anti-Islamophobia Campaign for Being a ‘Re-Election’ Ploy That Ignores Anti-Semitism
Steve Doocy unloaded on the Biden administration over its announcement that it would work on developing “the first-ever National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia” on Fox & Friends Thursday morning.
“As a result of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, we have seen an uptick in anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab, antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents across America,” asserted Vice President Kamala Harris in a video introducing the initiative.
The objective of the plan, said Harris, is “to protect Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim from hate, bigotry and violence. And to address the concern that some government policies may discriminate against Muslims.”
Doocy was less than enthused by the effort.
“In the wake of the FBI director coming out and talking about how we are seeing anti-Semitism at a historically high level, same day that that 21-year-old engineering student up at Cornell was charged with making threats to slit people’s throats — Jewish people — and rape them, the vice president of the United States announced a big plan. Is it about anti-Semitism? No. It’s about Muslims and protecting them,” said Doocy before playing a clip of Harris.
“And that is tone deaf, a lot of people say, because it’s like, look at all the anti-Semitism, and now they’re talking about that?” asked an incredulous Doocy. “Perhaps part of it is the fact that a new poll came out from the Arab American Institute that shows that Joe Biden’s support with Arab Americans is at 17%. Forty percent said that they would vote for Donald Trump. And here’s the thing: concerned Democrats from the state of Michigan are calling the White House, saying if the policy is going to be we’re 100% behind Israel, you’re going to lose support. If that is true and if the president is putting, and the White House, putting re-election above what is in the United States’ best interest, that is wrong.”
“Are you guys considering that by not taking a bold stand that you’re going to lose Jewish support as well, who overwhelmingly vote for Democrats as well? I mean, just do the right thing,” concurred Lawrence Jones.
