WATCH: Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs Goes on a Tear Against Paul Ryan for Criticizing the ‘Identity Politics’ of the Right

Lou Dobbs opened yet another segment by going after “outgoing lame duck” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) for some recent comments he made about political incivility.

“He took a shot at conservatives at the President and he used the word ‘tribalism,'” Dobbs said.

What did Ryan say that angered him so much? Well:

“I worry about tribal identity politics becoming the new norm of how politics is waged. As conservatives, we always thought this was sort of a left-wing Alinsky thing. Unfortunately, the right practices identity politics now as well. It’s the day and age, it’s the technology and everything else. Identity politics, which is now being practiced on both sides of the aisle, is unfortunately working.”

And this exchange with John Dickerson:

DICKERSON: You’ve talked about inclusive politics which tries to unify. Does President Trump practice those kind of politics?

RYAN: Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn’t.

Yep, that’s it. That’s all of it.

Dobbs, however, was stunned that “suddenly he’s out talking about Saul Alinsky tactics on the part of the right.” He asked, “What the heck is going on?”

Ed Rollins agreed and said, “That could have been a statement by Nancy Pelosi.”

Michael Goodwin told Dobbs Ryan’s engaging in a “total misreading of what has been happening” to claim this kind of thing is happening on both sides.

“I think in his case it’s really more misrepresentation on his part,” Dobbs said. “He knows better, surely?”

Yeah, where would Paul Ryan get the idea that incivility on the right is a thing anyway?
