#6 – Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart, Settle Down

Although it would still be a few months before it would come to a head, the tension between Gibbs and “professional left” figurehead Keith Olbermann (and, to a lesser extent, Jon Stewart) was foreshadowed in June, when I asked Gibbs if the White House was worried about losing the support of such influential commentators. While Gibbs would later express appreciation for the duo, he showed here that he wasn’t afraid to take on critics from the left:
