Behold Mediaite’s Uncanny Political Media Doppelgängers
Kat Timpf and Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz
OK, technically the resemblance here is Fox News contributor Kat Timpf and actress Melissa Rauch, but Rauch’s well-known character from the sitcom The Big Bang Theory seems to have Timpf down to a tee. Timpf is a sharp and engaging contributor to the network, and hilariously found herself in the middle of one of Jeb Bush’s better campaign moments not long ago. The lovable Bernadette is certainly one of the best characters on TBBT, and with her glasses firmly affixed, looks just like Kat Timpf.
Don Lemon and Tom DuBois from The Boondocks
We’re definitely not the first to point this out, but this is just a wonderful doppelgänger, and it honors one of CNN’s top weeknight anchors. It’s tough to deny that Don Lemon and cartoon defense attorney Tom DuBois from The Boondocks are dead ringers. Lemon is having a career year for CNN, and the 2016 election is allowing his talents to drive the network’s coverage, covering pivotal political events on the road and from the CNN studios in New York. Live from New Orleans as the ball dropped for New Year’s Eve, the Tom DuBois-lookalike casually told Kathy Griffin “nice rack.” Here’s to you, Don!
Thomas Roberts and Patrick Warburton
Just like news wunderkind Thomas Roberts, Patrick Warburton has worn many hats. Roberts has worked for a number of local and national news stations and has hosted the Miss Universe pageant. Warburton is an accomplished actor who transitions easily between TV and film. Given how much the two look alike, it’s no wonder they’ve even shared one of their proverbial hats: Roberts made his acting debut in Marvel’s The Avengers. Warburton must have been proud. Dan Abrams and Seth Meyers
Look how snarky WE are to include our boss — Mediaite founder Dan Abrams — on our very own doppelgänger list! Although there are many people in television that we probably could have argued look like Abrams, NBC’s Seth Meyers might very well be a distant cousin of the man. Meyers’ Late Night has been killing it in its coverage of the 2016 campaign, and it’s clear that his chops from years helming the Update desk in Studio 8H are putting him in the position to be arguably the lead comedic voice for the election.
Frank Luntz and Peter Griffin
Fox News’ resident pollster is a tremendous post-debate asset for the network, providing the latest and greatest in real-time reactions to politicians in televised events. He’s sharp and keen and very good at what he does; he also bears a striking resemblance to Quahog’s most famous resident: Family Guy‘s Peter Griffin. Luntz will continue to be part of the 2016 election, but it’s hard not to see him and imagine Seth MacFarlane’s exaggerated New England voice leading focus groups and reciting polling data.
