Anti-LGBT KY Clerk Kim Davis Mocked By Hilarious Parody Twitter Account
You’re just not paying attention if you haven’t heard the ballad of Kim Davis, the county clerk in Kentucky who has repeatedly refused to issue marriage licenses following the Supreme Court’s same sex marriage ruling. Never fear, for a popular parody Twitter account is here to save you from your lack of current topics knowledge just in time for pub trivia.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge David Bunning found Davis in contempt of court and jailed her. GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who unsurprisingly spoke out in support of Davis, described the judge’s ruling as the “criminalization of Christianity” on Twitter.
That’s all fine and dandy, but Sitnexto Kim Davis, a parody account that began tweeting on Tuesday, has become a star in its own right. With over 20,000 followers and climbing, the account — based on an image of a blonde, startled-looking receptionist sitting next to Kim during a confrontation on Sept. 1 — is making jokes and trolling the clerk’s supporters.
