Christine O’Donnell’s New Campaign Ad: “I’m Not A Witch… I Am You”

Looks like the Bill Maher blackmail-using-nationally-televised-video campaign is really getting to Delaware senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell. The Tea Party-backed Republican just released her first general election ad, a simple video of her telling voters that she is “not a witch,” with a lush piano background. Instead, “I’m you.”

The ad is thin on policy and very heavy on personality. Attempting to be warm and down-to-earth, O’Donnell explains that she would do “what you would do” in Washington, instead of what “politicians who think spending, trading favors, and backroom deals are the ways to stay in office” would. She doesn’t go into too much detail about what exactly that is, but if the ad’s purpose is to clear the air as to her reputation, there is a sizable demographic for which it just might work. A sizable demographic for which this may not work? Wiccans.

Randi’s not a witch, but she does a commercial wearing black against a black backdrop. Who advised that?

Randi was an endearing bubblehead, her only positive quality as best I can tell, and she makes a commercial in which she drones seemingly endlessly.

Let’s face it, Randi’s lumens shed light on nothing, and she got some very bad advice on this ad.

Election night: Randi -12%. Turd Blossom was right.

Correction: It’s mice with human brains. Mice. Not rats. Though scientists have a lack of values — what, with saying the earth is older than 6000 years and all — and they’re no doubt plotting to create those intelligent rats, they’re not up to that stage yet.
