Continuing in the path of his post-NBC life, Conan O’Brien picked a very new media way to announce the name of his new TBS show, premiering November 8: YouTube.

In a two-minute announcement, which he says was filmed in one take, he revealed the big news. The new show will be called…Conan.

“I’ve spent millions of dollars, I’ve had media research companies, we’ve had thousands of people working around the clock, and we have got it,” said O’Brien, before a makeshift drumroll. “Conan. Simple, pure, like the man himself.”

Yesterday Conan teased the announcement on Twitter:

I was going to announce the name of my new show today, but my lawyers tell me “The Return of Nanny McPhee” is taken. Tune in tomorrow.

The video was first posted by New York‘s Josef Adalian. Here’s the clip:

He should have gone with CoCo!

FK Coco- He lost me after he got $40 million from NBC, bitched about everything and then had the balls to go on tour singing “I Will Survive.”

NBC broke their contract agreement, and they owed him $40 million. He had every right to bitch because The Tonight Show is an American institution and something he dreamed about hosting since he was a child. He had respect for the institution and that’s why he left the show when they insisted on pushing the shows time slot back.

And what’s wrong with “I Will Survive”?

Typical of the times, he’s very underwhelming. Nice guy – but predictably as empty as his audience of Little People.
