Corey Lewandowski, Fired from Trump Campaign, Still Stands by ‘Great Candidate’
Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was fired from the campaign Monday morning, but shortly afterward released a statement, averring his loyalty to the presumptive GOP nominee.
“I stand by the fact that Mr. Trump is a great candidate and is better than Hillary Clinton ever will be,” Lewandowski said in a brief statement.

Lewandowski was reportedly fired from the campaign at the insistence of Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, who had been wary of the choleric Lewandowski ever since the kerfuffle where he allegedly assaulted journalist Michelle Fields (then at Breitbart). Reporters covering the Trump campaign said that Lewandowski had to be escorted out of Trump headquarters by security.
