Fox News Gets Slammed In New 20th Century Fox Movie Vampires Suck

Is Fox News like…a vampire?

That’s one of the jokes in the parody movie Vampires Suck, which was released last weekend by News Corp.-owned movie company 20th Century Fox.

The line comes when one character is trying to explain to the main character why vampires are so dangerous. “They’re evil blood suckers who only care about themselves and their own narrow-minded view of the world,” says the character. “Sort of like Fox News.”

In a movie that makes fun of everyone from Lady Gaga to the Black Eyed Peas, and skewers the Twilight franchise and its hardcore fans, it’s hard to take anything any of the characters say too seriously. But considering Fox News and 20th Century Fox are under the same News Corp. umbrella, it’s a little surprising to see such a blatant political shot.

For what it’s worth, Vampires Suck opened as the #2 movie of the weekend, despite getting a 5% Rotten Tomatoes rating (that’s not good).

The line hasn’t affected Fox News’ promotion of the movie. There’s this FoxNews.com interview with the star of the movie, and below is a FoxNews.com entertainment segment about it:

I’m not at all sure cable news will last the decade, but I’m sure if it does, everyone watching it will have been born in the mid part of the last century.

My French vocabulary is very good (of course, the French vocabulary is rather compact and compressed) and I know of a French professor at l’Université Lyon named Batier, but I know of no French noun other than the proper one “batier”. They should have slamed MSNBC, Keith Olberman could easily be compared to a Jewish Hitler, and Rachael Maddow is a little bit like Eva Braun but with ugly hair.

No, they’re just sucking. They tell conservative Americans what they want to hear. MSNBC does the same for liberal Americans. The ONLY fair and balanced 24 hour news outlet is CNN. Fox uses that line for propaganda purposes.

This has nothing to do with Fox News, but if there’s anything I dislike more than a movie about angsty teenage vampires who glitter when in the Sun is a dumb spoof about angsty teenage vampires who glitter in the Sun.

You want a real vampire movie? Try Nosferatu, Dracula (with Bela Lugosi), and 30 Days of Night.

LMFAO I am seeing this movie for sure now… I love satire. There is nothing like humor to put things in perspective. Do they have Rupert in it? Faux news folks merely work for this guy (he’d get rid of them if they didn’t suck the way he wanted them too)… Rupert Murdock is the true vampire king … sewing despair, fear, intolerance and hate every place he goes. Creating folie à plusieurs (“madness of many”) now known as dependency psychotic disorder (DSM-IV) (297.3) and induced delusional disorder (F.24) in the ICD-10 among my people. Making them hate and fear each other instead of finding ways to support and keep each other safe. Rupert Murdock relishes creating, turmoil, anger, paranoia and the destruction of the American people and their ability to treat each other with the respect they deserve, with his every “death rattle” of a breath. He is the one to blame… the rest of Faux news are just entertainers trying to make a living (and I am sure they fear RM too, as well they should).

Now, Mediaite has done things that I feel are amazing, but they have also done things that are pandering and insulting. Alas, they’ve reached rock bottom by referencing a Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer movie. I beg of you, no matter how many jokes that get made about FOX News in one of their movies, just leave well enough alone. They’ve done more to kill comedy than the Vatican, the FCC, and Andy Dick combined.

Reminds me of the Movie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. During the ending credits. One of the characters says in an interview after vampire attack.. “They had fangs. They were biting people. They had this look in their eyes — totally cold. Animal. I think they were Young Republicans.” LOL

It’s really not. FOX News threatened to sue FOX Entertainment at one point over things aired on the Simpsons making fun of FOX News.
