Piers Morgan Gets Grilled By British Authorities Over Phone Hacking Scandal
CNN host Piers Morgan was grilled Tuesday by the Leveson Inquiry over his alleged involvement in phone hacking.
The ethics panel questioned Morgan over how the former tabloid editor got a hold of a voicemail of Paul McCartney he had sent to Heather Mills but Morgan held his ground, saying he would not compromise his source.
“I can’t discuss where I heard that tape or who made it,” rebuffed Morgan. “I’m not going to start any trail that leads to the identification of a source.”
Morgan finished the questioning by saying he felt “like a rock star” having an album brought out from a back catalog of his “worst ever hits.” “I do think there has to be a a balance here,” Morgan told the questioner, “A lot of the very good things the newspaper was doing and continue to do are not being highlighted at all, and I feel very slighted.”
