Sen. Carl Levin Hit In Face With Pie

One protester in Michigan went old school, with a pie to the face of Sen. Carl Levin today.

The Detroit News reports this occurred during a Q&A session in Big Rapids, MI, and a female 23-year-old Michigan State University student has been arrested for assault and battery (with a pie).

The incident occurred when a separate male student “began chastising Levin for his work on the Senate Armed Services Committee.” The student charged with assault, Ahlam Mohsen, said she was protesting Levin’s support of Israel.

From The Hill:

“Carl Levin is one of the most respected senators in Congress,” she said. “People tend to blame the war on Republicans, but we wanted to target Levin today to send a message that liberals and Democrats are just as implicated in the violence as the Republicans.”

So far the story has not made it to the cable news outlets, and there is no video of the incident yet (there’s a short post on CNN.com). Rest assured, if video does emerge, it will become a bigger story on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.

The only thing really surprising about this story is that a Conservative was not the one physically attacked…but then it wouldn’t be a headline in the MSM if it was.

With the collapse in the Detroit economy — so much for the visionary collaboration of a Democrat political machine and good, high-paying union jobs — times are getting tougher and tougher. Next year, the pie-throwers will need to switch to small muffins.

While I don’t care for this Senator….or other Senators, this is clearly wrong. She should be charged and prosecuted for simple assault. However, it must be said that this is tactic employed by many on the far-left. While citizens at a town hall meeting might yell, they don’t attack the politician.

I’m kinda curious if Katie Couric or Sawyer will look into the camera an talk about violence regarding this.

Like it or not, it takes a lot of money to become elected in this country, with few exceptions. Since Jewish Americans tend to be in the upper echelons of society, there are quite a few of them that are politicians. It is not a Jewish conspiracy or anything like that. Its just a result of our system. However, most Jewish politicians push our over-the-top support of Israel. I believe Israel is more right than the Palestinians, but we give Israel more foreign aid than any other country. They can take care of themselves now. Its unseemly for our Jewish politicians to be such rabid supporters of another country. We don’t see any other hyphenated American doing that. For example Italian-Americans, German-Americans, Irish-Americans etc. don’t want to influence our government’s policies to favor the country of their ancestors. Having said that, any form of violence to a politician or anyone else should not go unpunished.
