Washington Post Today Launches News Aggregation Website ‘Trove’
The Washington Post today launched a new website called “Trove” which allows visitors to view the type of news they want access to based on their Facebook profile and interests. The new website is described as a “personalized site that aggregates news across subjects of interest and important headlines of the day.”
Whether news consumers are itching for another destination to include in their daily ritual of websites to visit remains to be seen, but the added promise of being fully functional on handheld devices may attract new visitors. Additionally, as demonstrated in the promotional video below and touted in its press release, “users can create their own channels–whether it’s a ‘Belieber’ channel about Justin Beiber or the price of oil in the Middle East–to capture news about a personal interest that may not already exist on Trove.”
