Watch President Obama’s Afghanistan Speech
After a decade of conflict in the country and many questioning what the purpose of the war in Afghanistan is now that Osama bin Laden has been killed, President Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech tonight on the future of the war in that region and America’s plans going into the next phase of the operation. Don’t have a TV? Thanks to WhiteHouse.gov, you can watch the speech live in its entirety here.
While the White House has not released any specifics on what President Obama will be announcing tonight, reports suggest that the President’s speech will mostly address troop withdrawal, and the White House’s plan for ending America’s military presence in the nation while making sure Afghanistan does not once again become a cradle of terrorism and Islamic fundamentalist radicals.
