DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz visited CNN’s Starting Point to address criticism that President Barack Obama has “flip-flopped” on the issue of Super PACs.

“Isn’t there something contradictory in that, though?” asked host Soledad O’Brien, “Saying ‘I’m against it, but embrace it because the other guys are embracing it.’”

Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski took on RNC chair Reince Priebus‘ recent comparison of President Obama to the Italian captain who abandoned his sinking cruise ship, saying her guests wouldn’t be responding to it this morning and calling the comments “irresponsible and despicable.”

Congressman Allen West spoke at a Florida GOP dinner last night, and had some fighting words for Democrats who are trying to mark Florida in the win column this November. He declared it a “battlefield” for citizens to stand on and tell the Democrats that their message is not going to resonate with the citizens of Florida. West called out not just President Obama, but Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and fellow Floridian Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords bid farewell to the House of Representatives on Wednesday, with her friend, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz helping her read her resignation letter, holding back a sob. “I am so proud of my friend, and it will always be one of the great treasures of my life to have met Gabby Giffords and to have served with her in this body,” Schultz cried. “We have all been through such a tumultuous year. The nation has been through a tumultuous year. No one more tumultuous than Gabby and her family and her constituents in her beloved home city of Tucson, Arizona.”

If you have a talking point handy to wave around every time you duke it out with your opponents, you better be prepared in case they try to use the same point on you. But apparently that didn’t happen on Fox News Sunday today when Chris Wallace kept pressing Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to be consistent in her charge that Mitt Romney was directly responsible for laying people off at companies owned by Bain Capital. If that was the case, Wallace asked, why isn’t President Obama responsible for the job losses at Solyndra?

Cable news programs over the last two weeks have pretty much been filled with the sordid accusations and strong denials surrounding Herman Cain‘s alleged sexual harassment story. The Cain campaign initially handled the sordid affair in a pretty bungled manner, though the increased television airtime proved to be something of a publicity boon to the campaign, bolstering both record donations and his place near the top of the polls.

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz slammed Congressman Joe Walsh‘s tirade against a constituent on Friday’s Morning Joe. “That’s the tea party unhinged!” Wasserman-Shultz exclaimed.

On CNN’s State of the Union today, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz criticized Republicans for voting against the American Jobs Act, and wondered when their leadership would step up and work with Democrats to fix the economy rather than just opposing the president at every turn. Candy Crowley highlighted the fact that two Senate Democrats voted against President Obama‘s jobs bill when it came to the floor.

On Face the Nation today, the heads of the Democratic and Republican National Committees faced off on President Obama’s record on the economy and the current race to replace him in the White House.

Midway through today’s episode of The Five, Bob Beckel mentions that he had been pretty “upset” during that morning’s meeting planning the day’s show. It was clear to any audience member that, by the time of taping, he still wasn’t in a great mood. Arms crossed and brow furrowed, he seemed to be visibly fuming as the other hosts trashed any “intellectual” who dared speak out against the Tea Party.

In the hours since the Jimmy Hoffa Voter Encouragement Crisis/Incendiary Rhetorapocalypse, conservative media figures have looked to the White House to provide some becalming wisdom to a shaken nation. At Tuesday’s White House briefing, ABC’s Jake Tapper asked Press Secretary Jay Carney how Hoffa’s comments fit with the President’s post-Tucson remarks in January.

Rush Limbaugh promised listeners today that he was in a “fit to be tied mood” and, boy, was he. Right at the top, he launched into a classic rant about Barack Obama and James Hoffa that featured such Limbaugh touches as accusing Obama of either suggesting or actually writing Hoffa’s controversial comments as well as insisting that Nino Rota’s theme from The Godfather play under the entire segment.

DNC Chairperson Debbie Wasserman-Schwartz appeared on Fox and Friends this morning, ostensibly to discuss the competing jobs plans that are set to be put forth this week by the White House and GOP candidate Mitt Romney. The conversation quickly turned to the controversy/distraction du jour: the recent anti-Tea Party comments made by Jimmy Hoffa in which he said “let’s take these son-of-a-bitches out!” Things became rather heated between host Gretchen Carlson and Wasserman-Schultz.

With all the Michele Bachmann news happening today and Tim Pawlenty suddenly dropping out of the race, let us not forget the sudden entrance of Rick Perry into the Republican presidential field. The Texas governor has breathed new life into the campaign, and could potentially shake up what has been described as a relatively lackluster assortment of candidates. But on Face the Nation today, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz simultaneously bashed Perry for taking credit for job creation in Texas while defending President Obama’s record on job creation and the economy during his term of office so far.

One of the few people who knew ahead of time that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords would appear in Congress Monday to cast her vote on the debt deal, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz described the moment–and the planning that went into it–on CNN’s American Morning Tuesday, telling Ali Velshi the sight of Giffords–who was nearly killed in a shooting spree in Tucson in January–had an instant effect on the divided House, filling it with electricity. “Gabby melted our hearts.”

Those looking for fodder with which to label Florida Republican Rep. Allen West sexist, the most recent of which being his email rant to DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz calling her “vile” and “not a lady” (though his misunderstanding of the lives of Spartan women is definitely up there). In her weekend commentary today, however, Fox News contributor Liz Trotta avoided the usual gripes, instead bringing up the unusual complaint that being a “big biker” have led some to call him “anti-women.”

Today on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh fielded a caller accusing Debbie Wasserman Schultz of racism and a liar in her scuffle with Allen West. Limbaugh agreed, calling Wasserman Schultz “deranged” and “typical of the American Left” and lamenting that no Republicans are getting West’s back against the Liberal “hit squad” that’s targeting him, instead leaving the job up to “talk radio hosts.”

Republican Congressman Allen West spoke with Stuart Varney this morning on Fox Business’ Varney & Co. about the ongoing feud between him and fellow Florida House member Debbie Wasserman Schultz. West showed no remorse for his language in an e-mail calling Wasserman Schultz “vile” and “not a lady,” and promised about the possibility of any apology, “that’s not happening.”

Earlier this week, DNC Chair (and House Representative) Debbie Wasserman Schwartz (D-FL) took to the floor of the House and derided the GOP’s latest budget plan known as “Cut, Cap and Balance.” Rep. Allen West (R-FL) took great exception with her comments and sent an email to the DNC chair calling her “vile,” a “coward,” and “not a lady.” Last night Stephen Colbert drew a sharp distinction between the two by juxtaposing the sharp rhetoric of each, and quickly devolves into Colbert shouting “whore” (and much worse) at the image of Wasserman Shultz.

Rep. Allen West has outraged a good number of people in the media with his infuriated email against DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, in which he calls her “vile” and “a coward” and a number of other colorful epithets. The email was so venomous, it seems some that may agree with the sentiment hesitate to support it. Take, for instance, Bill O’Reilly, who argued today that the exchanges between the two were “nasty” and “personal” and that Rep. West “hurt himself” by not explaining himself more publicly.
