Last night, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin spoke with Fox Business Network’s John Stossel about how GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul “hit the nail on the head” when he warned Barack Obama to be careful when interjecting us in other countries’ business.

FOX News’ John Stossel paid a visit to the Occupy Wall Street crowd on Tuesday and received whatever the opposite of a warm embrace was from the protesters. The short clip of him being confronted by some protesters as he strolled by and asked questions played out more like a police officer walking past a rowdy group of prisoners than a man who looks like Geraldo Rivera paying a visit to a protest. Stossel then showed his short collection of clips to Bill O’Reilly, who wondered what this Occupy Wall Street thing was all about:

With Rep. Ron Paul remaining throughout the year a steady presence in 2012 Republican polls, Bill O’Reilly took some time to explore his impact on the field tonight. But O’Reilly wasn’t concerned with the Republican Party– he asked John Stossel whether he was concerned that Rep. Paul was doing damage to the libertarian movement with his claims President Obama could likely be impeached. Stossel didn’t seem to see the problem– “he’s not hurting the libertarian movement; he is the libertarian movement!”

Even his strongest detractors have to give John Stossel this: he’s consistent about his free market principles– so consistent, he’s willing to argue there’s a case for weaning the government away from some law enforcement. For that, Stossel enlisted the help of Dog the Bounty Hunter last night, who argued that, at least in the business of catching suspects that abuse their liberties while out on bail, the government is costing taxpayers “hundreds of thousands of dollars” needlessly.

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain might not be a serious politician in the eyes of his critics, yet even they would have to admit the man can seriously sing! Earlier we shared audio clips of Cain singing gospel, but tonight John Stossel digs deeper and gets Cain to sing live in front of a studio audience to silence anyone who doubted his talent.

Florida congressman Bill Hager is pushing for a new law that would make it a felony to not report the disappearance of a child in a timely manner. The so-called “Caylee’s Law,” named for the two-year-old daughter of Casey Anthony, most likely has a little something to do with the anger and frustration many felt after learning that Anthony had spent 31 days partying rather than reporting the “disappearance” of her young child. Of course, we now know that Caylee wasn’t missing at all but, rather, dead and discarded.

Watch Fox News’ segment on the proposed law, where Studio B host Shepard Smith freely admits he “doesn’t understand what the motive is.” Things got a little heated, to say the least.

Fox News has announced summer plans for their Five PM hour, soon to be left vacant by Glenn Beck‘s departure after today. The cable news network will feature a new replacement show through the summer that is explained as an ensemble news program called The Five. The show will feature a number of rotating Fox News personalities familiar to their audience including Juan Williams, Monica Crowley, Greg Gutfeld , Dana Perino and Bob Beckel (among others.)

John Stossel is a self-admitted contrarian and appeared on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co. to promote his Fox Business special tonight on whether or not college is worth the time and money. Stossel believes, counter to the American dream, that attending college is a scam and argues that for many it is “often not worth the investment.”

Tomorrow is officially Glenn Beck‘s last day as a regular host on the Fox News Channel, and while many media critics have speculated about who will be his full-time replacement, the true plans for his replacement have been a well kept secret. But without having named a new host, there is a more immediate mystery as to what the cable news network will do in the near term — like, the day after tomorrow or next week. Well now we know what FNC plans to do.

John Stossel‘s war on unnecessary rules knows no bounds– take, for example, last night’s segment on dumb warning labels, an attempt to highlight the silliest things companies have to warn consumers from in order to avoid litigation. Stossel welcomed the head of the second annual Wackiest Warning Label contest to make fun of pen caps, bicycles, and costume capes that warn of brutally obvious dangers.

John Stossel‘s Freeloaders special calling out individuals for milking the system ruffled a few feathers, namely the “freeloaders” in question. To celebrate the outrage, Stossel invited his choice “freeloaders” back, among them colorful defense attorney Al Pires. In a stroke of genius, Stossel paired the lawyer with Andrew Breitbart, who happens to have a history with the USDA himself. Classic cable news unproductive yelling ensued.

While America waits with bated breath for the first presidential debate of the 2012 season– to see who will show up more than anything else– some have taken a more proactive attitude toward making it happen. Take Fox’s John Stossel, for example, who managed to convince 2012 candidate Rep. Ron Paul to debate an actor playing President Barack Obama on his program this week.

The parallels between right-wing undercover dance-pop sensation James O’Keefe and left-wing (?) hacker/fashion icon Julian Assange have been long drawn out, but with every new interview the similarities become starker. O’Keefe visited John Stossel on his eponymous FBN program to defend his tactics and asserted that, since “the public has a right to know… you simply don’t have an expectation of privacy when you’re discussing business matters.”

Quick, which group has the U.S. government helped out the most? Wall Street, maybe? Or the unemployed? Oh, how about all those defense contractors? Wrong, says Fox News contributor John Stossel. As far as Stossel is concerned, it’s Native Americans.

Bill O’Reilly and John Stossel discussed the recent feud between potential Republican candidates for President: Congressman Ron Paul and Donald Trump. In addition to debating which of the two candidates had less of a chance of being successful, O’Reilly and Stossel also discussed whether libertarian ideas in general are too radical for voters.

It began like a scene out of Jimmy Fallon‘s wildest dreams: a mustache face-off between Fox News’ top upper lips, Geraldo Rivera and John Stossel. The pair dueled (showed off their facial hair simultaneously on camera) for a good cause: prostate cancer awareness. And contrary to Fallon’s prediction, the two mustaches got along swimmingly! Their owners, however, did have a point of contention: government funding of disease research, the very thing their hair was meant to promote.

If you were in a Manhattan mall and had a hankering for cupcakes this week, there’s a chance you may have stumbled upon cupcake salesman (and Fox Business Network host) John Stossel, who took his libertarian baking skills to the masses in order to make a point about affirmative action. And if you were hungry enough to accept cupcakes from John Stossel, you had better hope you were the “right” race, else you could have been paying up to an extra dollar for your treat.

Bill O’Reilly bet John Stossel some money that Proposition 19 in California wouldn’t pass. He also made an election bet with Laura Ingraham. And he’s got some money on several other races, and bet Glenn Beck money to dress like Joy Behar on the Bold/Fresh Tour. It’s a good thing he has friends like Beck to step in when things get out of hand.

If Kermit were ever to take up politics, he might want to do all his interviews over on MSNBC or CNN. Earlier today, John Stossel explained the gradual increase of government to Megyn Kelly using the same visual metaphor that, last year, got Glenn Beck into a bit of, ahem, hot water. It was a tease for a segment on his own show and, as such, it worked perfectly. It insured Stossel will get at least a few new viewers: PETA.

With the potentially-marijuana-legalizing Prop 19 debate raging in California, Bill O’Reilly brought in his go-to libertarian John Stossel to debate the issue on the Factor tonight. You’ll never believe this one, but O’Reilly wants it to get voted down (he thinks the measure will fail), while Stossel wants it to pass (and he thinks it will do so).

There may never be a more apt example of the infantilization of cable news than the following clip of John Stossel literally taking toy’s away from babies to demonstrate the national debt. One can only guess why Stossel and his producers thought this to be an effective shtick, but we guess its mostly because he thinks his viewers are idiots. That probably also explains what many see has his exceptionally smug demeanor as well.

“Are some Americans simply too dumb to vote?” asked Bill O’Reilly last night on The Factor.

He had on John Stossel to answer this question, but Stossel had a laser-focused on one group of apathy: young people. But what about the other idiots in this country?

John Stossel‘s noble crusade against the Nanny State won’t end until every single unreasonable bit of legislation is rejected by the American people. Many times, this leads Stossel to tackle obviously ridiculous law, like the time he got himself a government subsidy for a golf cart. Other times, it leads to outrage over the Americans With Disabilities Act.

I like John Stossel because he’s clearly not a hypocrite. He’ll take his Libertarian views to the logical end. However, at this point, it seems like he has to be joking. While someone could disagree with his belief that the world would be safer if we were all packing heat, it still would sound like something that a reasonable person might think. However, arguing that, say, a jam packed intersection in New York would be safer if we didn’t have traffic lights is just one notch south of absolutely insane.
