Jake Tapper And Jay Carney Get Into It Over Briefing Protocol, Bestiality Evoked Again

whbrief video

After a streak that, I think, endured the whole of human history, the subject of bestiality has now come up twice during White House briefings this month. In a quasi-friendly exchange this afternoon, ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper let out some annoyance at Press Secretary Jay Carney for skipping around the room, and sarcastically told Carney “No, America wants to know about your position on bestiality,” a reference to a Les Kinsolving question from last week.

PETA Accuses Jay Carney Of ‘Making Light of Bestiality’ For Laughing At Les Kinsolving Question

les video

At Monday’s White House briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney tried to show a little Christmas generosity by calling on WorldNetDaily correspondent Les Kinsolving near the top of the briefing. For his trouble, Carney is now under fire from PETA for supposedly “making light of bestiality” because he laughed at, and waved off, Kinsolving’s less-than-seriously-phrased question about a defense authorization bill that repealed the sodomy provision of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Les Kinsolving Condemns Troy Davis Execution And GOP Debate Reaction To Death Penalty

Les Kisolving video

“That’s just one of those things,” Les Kinsolving told Mediaite’s own Tommy Christopher, when asked about the Troy Davis execution and the GOP debate audience’s cheers for the death penalty. “I’m sorry I have to speak out where I believe it is right, and I thing that capital punishment is wrong.”

Conservative White House Press Explains Why Chris Christie Won’t And Shouldn’t Run

glk video

Before today’s White House daily briefing, I found myself surrounded by something of a Holy Trinity of Conservative Media, so it seemed like a good time to ask them what they thought of the chatter surrounding NJ Gov. Chris Christie‘s possible (if unlikely) entry into the 2012 Republican presidential field. John Gizzi from Human Events, Fred Lucas from CNS News, and Les Kinsolving from World Net Daily all responded to the question “Will he, and should he?” with a resounding negatory.

Hillary Clinton Says Chances She Will Run Against Barack Obama ‘Below Zero’

hillary video

In a bit of news that’s news to no one, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton threw cold water on the possibility that she might mount a primary challenge to President Obama, then froze that water. Asked Friday, by CNN’s Alison Kosik, if she would consider running in 2012, Clinton said the chances of that were “below zero.”

PUMA Alert: White House Reporter Asks Jay Carney ‘What About Hillary In 2012?’

kinsolving video

It’s been awhile since we’ve used the acronym P.U.M.A to describe intra-political fighting so here is a quick refresher: it stands for Party Unity My Ass, and was a phrase coined during the Democratic primary of 2008, born from the rivalry between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. It’s apropos today because of a question asked by World Net Daily’s White House Reporter Lester Kinsolving, who asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney if the President is concerned about a Hillary run in 2012.

Campaign Event Table Settings Wage Jihad Against Rick Santorum’s Paper Product Metaphor

Santorum video

GOP presidential contender Rick Santorum continued to obsess over paper products (with a name like Santorum, can you blame him?) at a campaign stop in Spartanburg, SC, and accused the gay community of going on a “jihad” against him over the issue of gay marriage, in much the same way that Evander Holyfield‘s ear once went on a jihad against Mike Tyson‘s teeth. Poor Santorum can’t catch a break, though, as every table in the joint offered a visual rejoinder to his napkin/paper towel analogy.

World Net Daily’s Les Kinsolving Reacts To Release Of President Obama’s Birth Certificate

lesbc1 video

Although it has been a few weeks since President Obama released his long-form birth certificate, it has taken some time to catch up with World Net Daily White House Correspondent Les Kinsolving to get his reaction. Les has been a consistent questioner of the President’s birthplace, but faced with the evidence, Les says the release of the long-form puts the issue to rest for him…for the most part.

Nerdprom Isn’t Just For ‘Nerds’: White House Correspondents Dinner Is A Red Hot Ticket

White House August 10 130

Washington, DC is often referred to as “Hollywood for ugly people,” but in recent years, the town has enjoyed one night of the year when it blossoms into a Hollywood swan: The White House Correspondents Dinner, aka “Nerdprom.” As the dinner’s profile has risen, so has the demand for tickets to see, and be seen, at an event that is ostensibly a celebration of DC’s least glamorous denizens. Even as this year’s Seth Meyers-headlined fete has had to compete with the Royal Wedding, the clamor to get in has reached an all-time zenith.

How To Interview Donald Trump: The Birther-Debunker’s Guide To The Universe

trump_4.6.11

Although everyone seems to be having a ball with Donald Trump’s Magical Birth Certificate Mystery Tour®, the sheer volume of Birther mythology makes it tough for interviewers to hit every clay Birther pigeon Trump tosses into the air. To be fair, reporting on the both certificate issue always seems to be missing one or two pieces, like a yard sale Monopoly set. Hopefully, this handy guide will remedy that situation, and help The Donald’s next Birther interview go straight to truth-jail. Do not pass “Go,” do not collect the nomination.

Exclusive Video: Our Lost Interview of Birther Who Interrupted Congress’ Reading Of Constitution

TheresaCao Exclusive Video

The woman who interrupted the reading of the US Constitution on the floor of the House of Representatives Thursday to shout “birther” protestations has now been identified, by Capitol Police, as Theresa Cao, a colorful DC resident who often haunts the sidewalks of Pennsylvania ave outside the White House.

As it turns out, I knew her when. Almost exactly a year ago, I ran into TC, and videotaped a brief interview that I never ended up using. Here, for the first time, is that interview, and the story of our encounter.

Keith Olbermann Denies Comparing Tax Deal With Nazi Appeasement (He Did)

Special_Comment video

During a Special Comment segment last week,Countdown host Keith Olbermann compared President Obama‘s compromise on the Bush Tax Cuts by to Nazi appeasement. At Monday’s White House briefing, I asked Press Secretary Robert Gibbs if the White House had any reaction to the comparison. In a series of tweets Monday, Olbermann denied that he had made such a comparison. This is really quite simple: despite his Rush Limbaugh-esque use of a rhetorical escape hatch, he did, in fact, compare the tax compromise with Nazi appeasement.

President Obama Includes ‘Creator’ In Declaration Of Independence Reading After Controversially Omitting

Picture 2 video

After repeatedly omitting the statement from the Declaration of Independence, President Obama read an excerpt from the text and began from the words “endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights.” The last two times he omitted them, the president caused a firestorm among many on the right that considered it an affront to the values of the Founders.

Exclusive: WND’s Les Kinsolving in Depth on his New Biography ‘Gadfly’

les_book

World Net Daily’s Les Kinsolving, now the 2nd most senior member of the White House Press Corps, is the subject of a new book by his daughter, Kathleen. I’ve written before about Les’ fascinating career, his outrageous questions at White House briefings, and interviewed him on some of his defining contradictions, but “Gadfly: The Life and Times of Les Kinsolving” reveals the rest of the chaotic iceberg that is Les Kinsolving’s life. In our exclusive interview, Les talks about some of those contradictions, defends his involvement with the South African Apartheid government, and pleads for a little social justice from Robert Gibbs.

Video: World Net Daily Correspondent Les Kinsolving’s Latest Birther Question to Robert Gibbs

les

During my latest interview with World Net Daily’s Les Kinsolving (publishing later today), he boasted that he is the only reporter to have asked Robert Gibbs about President Obama‘s birth certificate…twice. At yesterday’s White House briefing, Les went for the hat trick, asking a question about Obama’s Social Security number, but sprinkling in a reference to the certificate. This coincides with the latest “scoop” to crawl out from under WND, a Hawaii elections official who’s making his own bid for Birther fame.

Exclusive: Two Most Senior White House Correspondents Speak Out On Helen Thomas

IMG_3289

Since the abrupt retirement of Helen Thomas earlier this week, the White house Press Corps is now without its unofficial Dean. Since Helen was the most senior of all White House correspondents, her departure has left Audio-Video News’ Connie Lawn and World Net Daily‘s Les Kinsolving as the 1st and 2nd most senior members of the corps, respectively. While neither has designs on the deanship, they each had a lot to say about Helen’s departure, and the current state of the White House briefings.

Robert Gibbs Spars with Les Kinsolving About Obama Press Conferences

les video

Now, there’s something you don’t see every day. At yesterday’s briefing, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs turned the tables on World Net Daily correspondent Les Kinsolving, grilling Les for nearly five minutes over what constitutes a press conference.  Even stranger, about halfway through their exchange, Kinsolving actually drew applause from the press corps. I haven’t seen a reaction like that since Gibbs suggested holding a briefing in the Rose Garden.

Exclusive: WorldNetDaily’s Les Kinsolving on Birthers, Jonestown, and More

les

Part one of my interview with WorldNetDaily correspondent and radio host Les Kinsolving was really just the tip of the iceberg. In parts 2 and three of our interview, Les opens up about some of the touchstones of his extraordinary career, including his experiences as the first Jim Jones whistleblower, his place in the history of the AIDS epidemic, and his quest to see the President’s birth certificate. Amid a host of seeming contradictions, he also talks about being pro-choice and anti-death penalty.
