Picture 1

Glenn Beck‘s star may have risen higher than ever when he arrived at Fox News, but long before he was drawing on chalkboards and counting czars on his hands he was up to all sorts of mischief at Headline News, where his program was a bit more of a pop culture hodgepodge than a daunting, consistent barrage of information on how the world may or may not be ready to call it a lifetime. Beck was also more prone to interviewing guests, and one night entertained the legendary Mr. T, who he somehow got to comment on the Mark Foley scandal.

The Palm Beach Post reports Foley headlined a weekend meeting of Palm Beach County’s Young Republicans. The choice of Foley as a speaker for an audience of young people resulted in criticism when the announcement was made in Florida, with one critic turning to Twitter with the message “have you people lost your minds?”

Dana Milbank: Scandal Plagues Congress’ ‘Class Of ’94′ (As Opposed To Other Politicians)

Dana Milbank’s Washington Post column today is more of a trend-spotter than a policy analysis, noting that the Republican “Class of ‘94” that stormed in during Newt Gingrich’s Republican Revolution seems to have more sex scandals than most. “No fewer than 15 of the 73 elected in the landslide that year,” Milbank writes, “have entertained the nation with flaps that include messy divorces and a suspicious car accident.” In other words, the Class of ’94 is bringing career-destroying sexy back. But did it ever leave?
