Days ago, it was widely reported that Charles Manson had called off his wedding to a woman 53 years younger than him after he allegedly learned she only wanted to display his corpse in a museum. In a twist that just makes this story even more insane — yes, it’s possible! We didn’t believe it ourselves! — that woman insists the wedding will go through.

“Yes, I am going to marry Charlie Manson!” Afton Elaine Burton, who goes by “Star,” told Inside Edition. “I think he’s the most handsome man in the world.”

But what about the part where he was a cult leader imprisoned for life because of mass murder? That part would seem rather crucial to one’s judgement of the man, right?

“I’m going to stick with him whether or not he’s in prison,” she said, calling him the “cutest thing.” Well then.

The rest of the interview involves Inside Edition ambushing her poor mother in rural Illinois (“Will any family members or friends be going to the wedding?” they actually asked), as well as asking her to demonstrate Manson’s “seed gun” (yes, really), and showing the footage from her interview to a clinical psychologist, who deems her “pretty delusional.”
