CNN Dominates Sen. Kennedy Memorial Coverage Friday

Cable news ratings, August 28, 2009: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:

• CNN was the top-rated cable news network on Friday in both the A25-54 demographic and total viewers during prime time. The memorial began during the 6pmET hour and continued into the 9pmET hour. CNN won the 7,8,9 and 10pmET hour in both categories. MSNBC finished 2nd in the demo with FNC 3rd (FNC was 2nd in total viewers).

• While CNN won in prime time, Fox News still was #1 in total day in both categories. Fox News also had the single best-rated hour on Friday – Glenn Beck‘s 5pmET hour.

• The top-rated hour for CNN and MSNBC was at 9pmET in the demo, while the 9pmET hour was FNC’s lowest in prime time.
