Conan’s Final Monologue: “We Couldn’t Care More”

Has watching a man crash through a plate of glass, french kiss a bear and tip over a row of Domino’s pizza guys ever made you misty? It will tonight. Conan O’Brien has delivered his final Tonight Show monologue on his final Tonight Show — and it delivered right back.

“Like everything in life, the fun has to come to an end — a decade too early,” he joked, but that’s about as close, really, as he came to casting any blame tonight. Instead there were the usual jokes (list of possible uses for the studio) and more wasting of money (he assures the Internet that they’re not really spending that much) — and a kickass medley of great moments from his 7-month tenure — remarkable &mash; followed by a standing ovation. That’s when he told his audience that they couldn’t care more. But we knew that.
