Condoleezza Rice Has A Romantic History With Alec Baldwin In Hilarious 30 Rock Cameo
Alec Baldwin’s character on 30 Rock, Jack Donaghy, is an uber-conservative with the history with the Bush administration. He even briefly worked as the “Homeland Security Director for Crisis and Weather Management” before becoming disillusioned and trying to get fired by approving a “gay bomb” (Totally true. See for yourself. It’s on Netflix) However, it turns out he also has a romantic history with one of the key figures; Condoleezza Rice. During last night’s episode, Rice cameoed as herself in a hilarious scene in which Donaghy apologizes for breaking up with her via text message.
I’d love to give you more context for the scene but I haven’t watched the episode yet and any recap would spoil it. My spoiler aversions have hurt my reporting before. Like the time I refused to cover the 2010 election aftermath until I got home to watch the results on my DVR. However, The Blaze informs me that this scene occurs after Donaghy’s wife (played on the show by Elizabeth Banks) has been captured in North Korea. Oh no! Well, I guess this is what lunch breaks and Hulu are for.
Enjoy the clip from NBC below and, if you want more of funny people getting romantically entangled with Rice, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point you to this amazing bit from Will Ferrell’s George W. Bush having a sexy moment with the Secretary of State in his Broadway show/HBO special You’re Welcome, America.
