Onetime top TV news titan Dan Rather has something to say about his career, from the Kennedy assassination to his unceremonious exit from CBS. Keith Kelly writes in the New York Post the newsman’s memoir will:

“cover the full scope of Rather’s work, including interviews with every American president from Dwight Eisenhower to Barack Obama and major news events ranging from the JFK assassination to live coverage of the 9/11 terror attacks.

The book–expected to hit bookstores and e-readers in 2012–will be entitled “Summing Up.

Ditto. Why do these old hacks feel the need to blather on endlessly? STFU already Dan.

Nice. I guess we can expect to find this book in the Fiction section.

  • Probably NOT wrong

Maybe he can get Dana Millbank and Ed Schultz to help
him market it, seeing the huge success of their recent
    best sellers!

Oh boy, another big seller. Will he outsell Rick Sanchez or Sgt. Schultz? Somehow I’m picturing another AFL-CIO warehouse full of thousands of brand new books in boxes somewhere. I mean, Dan did take one for the team.

And the dern book will be grittier than a beach house welcome mat in August…

Grittier than a ham sandwich in a sand storm.

Grittier than a fifty-year-old Texan bar maid in a desert honky tonk.

Grittier than… you get the picture…

Yes, someone who spent decades in the news business and has talked to just about every important leader of our time has no right writing a book.

    BOOKS! How French of him.

Blather has every right in the world to write a book. I have every right in the world to dismiss it as a waste of time and putrid in the nostrils of truth.

Is he not the Grandaddy of US News?
