Ed Asner Fires Back At Hannity: ‘I Think He’s Behind On His Rabies Shots’
Appearing on The Young Turks on Current TV, actor Ed Asner fired back at Fox host Sean Hannity for the latter’s outrage over the former’s participation in a California Federation of Teachers cartoon video that included a rich man urinating on poor people.
“I think he’s behind on his rabies shots,” Asner told host Cenk Uygur, referring to Hannity’s anger over the cartoon.
For context: in last week’s Hannity segment on the video, a Fox producer approached Asner outside a theater in Midtown Manhattan to ask him about whether he supports such over-the-top animation to make the point about income inequality. A sarcastic Asner eventually asked the producer whether he could “piss” on him. This prompted Hannity to snark about how un-classy the actor is; and then he and Michelle Malkin proceeded to rag on the actor and the cartoon for the subsequent discussion.
“Fox News has taken you on,” Uygur told the actor. “They say you’re the boogeyman. Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin have called you every word — every bad word.”
Asner replied with his “rabies” remark, which prompted Uygur to laugh.
“You’re not too concerned with him portraying you as a Hollywood liberal?” Uygur then asked.
“I’m proud of it,” Asner pointedly said.
“God bless you,” Uygur said. “It’s reassuring to hear that.”
