Ed Schultz Fills Out His Fox News Barack Obama Bracket-Bashing Bracket

video

With so much noise about President Obama‘s March Madness brackets, it was only a matter of time before liberal MSNBC host Ed Schultz delivered his own Baracketology meta-bracket. Keying off of Bill O’Reilly‘s denunciation of the bracket-fueled “industry of Obama-bashing,” Schultz presented his own rundown of Billo’s colleagues engaging in an Obama bash-off.

Schultz played a clip of O’Reilly denouncing the “industry of Obama-bashing,” and pointed out that O’Reilly’s own network is at the forefront of that industry by holding his own tournament. It was a funny bit, with a good premise (although he missed an opportunity by not dubbing it, simply, “Madness”), but I’m not really sure why Greta Van Susteren was included in Schultz’s tournament. Based on the clips he included, Greta didn’t present the President’s picks in any different a light than Schultz did when he conceded, “I’m not so sure I would have done it.”

I don’t want to spoil the suspense, but there was an odd moment when Schultz described tournament finalist Glenn Beck as the “Diaper Dandy.” Does Schultz know something I don’t? Paging David Vitter?

Here’s the clip, via MSNBC:

You forgot to tell us whether this particular reference to Obama filling out brackets was racist or not, Tommy.

  • http://www.heartland.org/environmentandclimate-news.org/ClimateConference4 Just Tex

Perhaps Pig Head, errrr, Big Ed, included Greta because he hasn’t had his rabies shot yet this year? Or, maybe his own diaper is filled, just like Ed himself is, way past the brim?!

Hey Tommy, before I waste my time commenting on another one of your pieces, can I get your rules for posting? You deleted by last post, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why. Just want to make sure I have the rules straight so I’m not censored again. Thanks!

Torchy stays on top of the latest news .
He’ll be whining about O’Reilly’s Superbowl Obama interview next week .

    Post things he agrees with?

    Hey-o!

Also, that headline needs work; it’s pretty indecipherable.

I’m just guessing but it was probably the “colon” part.

Poor Big Ed – he’s got nothing without FNC. COMCAST must love the constant advertising for Fox on MSNBC — it’s what Ed does, day in and day out. Funny, he never Lern(er)s anything, and I wonder why he didn’t include any lines from Stephen…oh wait, Stephen Lerner…that’s a real story, so you won’t see if headlined here. My bad; I tried to be sneaky….and mention it (bury it) without actually reporting on it, but it just doesn’t work that way (well, unless maybe your a media blog site that somehow misses some pretty big stories). oh wel

If you took away the segments during which MSNBC hosts whine about their more successful competitor, there wouldn’t be much left at this “news” network. Their motto should be “They Report; We Deride.”

  • Tommy Christopher

We also try to be as hands off as possible with the comments, but when it comes to personal attacks, we do have a lower tolerance for crude comments directed at the non-anonymous staff of this site, and the non-anonymous subjects of our stories, whose friends, family, and colleagues often read this site.

I do encourage you all to refrain from poo-slinging, no matter the target, and as I said, do let us know if there’s a specific concern. Use the tip email for fastest response.

    Example:
“Yes, TC you’re correct. I understand why you highlight issues that support your views, and ignore others… and think that’s terrific! I also have no problem with you being an outspoken left-winger, on a site which claims to be non-partisan, but employs no counter balance. And thanks for the beer!”

That’s what imagine a conversation in TC’s house would be like… although, to be fair, I can’t say with 100% certainty that he’d offer the beer.

LOL @ all the Bush-bashing Lefties and their anger at seeing the fire hose pointed AT ‘their guy’ rather than BY ‘their guy.’ This year has been marvelous so far; the next two will be delicious, too, as Mrs. Butter-Soaked Lobster tells hubby that a second term just isn’t worth it.

Thanks, Tommy. I fully support deleting crude personal attacks — these add nothing to the dialogue. Censoring ideas and viewpoints is one thing, but obscene insults are a different matter. I’ve noted a recent improvement in the level of discourse, and suspect that this is because some of these comments are deleted before I see them. In a perfect world, this wouldn’t be necessary, but some of the participants here have really crossed the line one too many times. (Or, with regard to a well-known serial commenter, about a thousand too many times.)

You have to understand. The editors on this site are very liberal, it shows in just about everything they do, and you have to understand the liberal mind. They _think_ that they’re being fair, but “fair” to them is like you or I trying to be fair to both a cuddly puppy and a cockroach. Make no mistake, this really is how they think. Conservatives, for the most part and to their detriment, believe that liberals and progressives are normal people who’ve been mis-guided and / or brainwashed. Libs / progs, on the other hand, view conservatives with loathing and contempt; idiots and neanderthals, and who the hell are they to stand in the way of the glorious new order. They hate conservatism and conservatives, yet they make no correlation between their hatred of conservatism and true hatred, to them, their hatred isn’t really hate, and so they’re comfortable with it.

That is so true. It’s like when a liberal runs out of ideas and has to start calling people racists. Liberals are in an intellectual vacuum and they have nothing left but to call names. They’re like little children.

This is hilarious. Where was all this criticism when Bush was playing golf? I’m confused now. According to Fox News, it was just fine when Bush enjoyed a little leisure time. Not one Fox News anchor much less the entire network came out to criticize Bush when he went to play golf at the start of the war in Afghanistan or at any other time. Now, you tell me. Is that fair and balanced?
