Keith Olbermann Slams Texas For Stupidity

“A mind may be a terrible thing to waste, but if you waste 15 million of them, apparently you get Texas.” That was Keith Olbermann tonight, doing his best to collectively piss off the biggest state in the contiguous U.S. after a recent poll showed that 60 percent of those polled in the cowboy state believe that humans and dinosaurs existed at the same time, or weren’t sure.
We’re not really sure what Olbermann’s goal here is except to rile up a bunch of people…he even admits that he wishes there was a political association he could pin this on, but then goes on to spout numbers of Democrats versus Republicans who go to church. Which is a little misleading…there’s no data saying that everyone who answered “stupidly” (i.e. not believing in evolution, or unsure) had strong religious beliefs one way or another. That’s the problem with statistics: hard numbers at face value seem inarguable, but once you take a closer look, you see how easy it is to skew data to make say, an entire state look like a bunch of backwards idiots.
