Maddow: Much Of Times Sq ‘News’ Anonymous, Comes From People With Agendas

video

Last night Rachel Maddow ran down the list of ‘news’ that has been making the rounds about the Faisal Shahzad — including the report that he’s ‘singing like a bird,’ that the FBI lost him before they found him, that secret spy planes were involved in the capture — and pointed out that while everything may turn out to be true these items are:

“Mostly anonymously sourced, some of them are anonymously single-sourced, many of them are transparently anonymously single sourced to people who have agendas of what they want people to think about this case, and think about counter-terrorism in general.”

Maddow also slams Sen. Joe Lieberman‘s attempt to pass a bill that will strip Americans of their citizenship if they “are found to be involved” with terrorist affiliations. Instead of going through the Federal court system — which has a history of success of prosecuting terrorists, unlike military tribunals, which…don’t — Maddow says Lieberman wants to “make violence on the Constitution.” Of course, it may be “manifestly constitutional.” Video below.

People have agendas? Like you? Heith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Ed Shulz?????

  • MichelleF

BR, in your professional opinion, would this be an example of Chris Matthews having an agenda:

Chris Matthews got into such a tizzy about Republicans criticizing Barack Obama on his terror policy that he flew off the handle, on Thursday’s Hardball, as he yelled at his GOP guest: “What’s your problem with the guy? Why do you keep bitching?!”

I think so, but I could reading more into it than I should.

Can Rachel Maddow even keep a straight face when complaining about news coming from “people with agendas”? That’s the whole basis of her show, no?

Rachel wants a lesbian in the White House. Opps we already had one.

You are one bigoted fucktard, you know that?

  • MichelleF

Is that kind of language really allowed on this site? I sure hope not.

From my experience, I’m quite sure its encouraged.

Actually, judging by the numerous spam posting, like the one immediately preceding this one, I submit comments are not moderated here at all.

I’m of the belief there is no editorial staff as well.

i”ve actually had a couple of my comments that say awaiting moderation. I think they may just choose who to monitor. it’s kind of like grandma being stripped searched in the airport, while the middle eastern man who paid cash for a one way ticket to the middle east, breezes through security.

    Are left wing agendas okay?

    Are left wing agendas okay?

Maddow’s nightly sermons are nothing but a left-wing agenda exposition using Stalinist rhetoric to make her points. Anyone to the right of her ueber-left posturing gets scorn—she’s Keith Olbermann in drag.

Maddow makes a lot of sense and that angers the right. At least she backs up her statements with facts-unlike the rights fave hero Flush Windbaugh-who talks and talks talks and doesn’t back anything up with facts.

Drex says that “Maddow makes a lot of sense.” I must have missed that episode of her show. When I watch her, she is always obsessed with scoring meaningless points on negligible issues — even parsing passing comments on obscure conservative blogs or (a Maddow favorite) some sign at a tea party. Her political philosophy, on the rare occasions she deals with a real issue, seems to boil down to improving the world through gay marriage and government control of every last corner of our lives. If this is “making sense,” heaven help us.
