Oops: James Taylor Forgets He’s Singing the National Anthem

Singer-songwriter James Taylor had the pleasure of singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Thursday night’s Game 2 of the World Series in Boston. Except he seemed to have temporarily forgotten which song he was supposed to sing, as he began with “America the Beautiful.”

Taylor handled the gaffe like a professional, however, and smoothly transitioned into the national anthem after just one line.

He later performed “America the Beautiful” during the game’s 7th Inning Stretch, and so it’s understandable how he could’ve mixed the two tunes up in his head.
