Paul Begala: Picking Rick Perry’s Brain ‘Definition of Slim Pickins’

Democratic strategist Paul Begala made fun of Texas Governor Rick Perry’s brain this morning.

The comment came in response to President Barack Obama’s offer to meet with Perry and faith leaders about the border crisis while in Texas this week.

“[Perry’s] been a demagogue and frankly a dope about this issue,” Begala began. “He’s been totally unhelpful, suggesting darkly that there’s a conspiracy, that Barack Obama is behind this.”

“If he’s going to pick Rick Perry’s brain, that’s the definition of slim pickins,” Begala said, suggesting the faith leaders would be the more productive participants.

“Ooo!” host Kate Bolduan responded. “Paul! …That was pretty brutal.”

NB: Urban Dictionary’s definition of slim pickins seems unnecessarily specific.
