Piers Morgan Leads All CNN Shows Friday Night, With Nearly One Million Total Viewers

Cable news ratings, July 27, 2011:

•CNN’s Piers Morgan may be getting unwanted attention for his past role as a tabloid newspaper editor–including time at the scandal-tarred and now defunct News of the World–but it’s not hurting his ratings. On Friday night, Piers Morgan Tonight hit a total audience of nearly one million viewers, and had an average audience of 300,000 viewers 25-54. That put the show just behind MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow (356,000), but well behind Fox’s Sean Hannity (531,000). Overall, PMT had the biggest ratings of the night on CNN, beating Anderson Cooper‘s AC 360.

•Among the key viewing group of adults 25-54, Fox’s Hannity edged The O’Reilly Factor Friday night, 531,000 to 509,000 at the top of FNC’s ratings performers. At the other end, The Five fared the worst with 268,000 viewers in the demo, though that was more than enough to win the five o’clock hour easily.

Here’s the full scoreboard:

I love how FOX wins by a landslide, but that doesn’t make the headline.

Hey, Joyella, good boy for not putting ac in the title unnecessarily but how come you can’t mention Fox? Are you being paid by CNN? Or if you only talk about CNN it still gives you a change to talk about ac while touching your junk with your other hand?

  • Miss K

i know it has been said many times but it seems like you still don’t get it, so let me say it one more time
FOX isn’t news so naturally it doesn’t need to be mentioned or compared to the other networks

  • Arkansas Steve

    Thank you Missy.
Now that you’ve explained to everyone what NEWS is, you’re ready to feed your cats & watch Nancy Grace.

It’s not a big deal for Fox becuase it’s everyday. I think Morgan is getting so many peolpe watching now is due to the Murdoc trial. and his tie’s to it.

Hmmmm. That’s odd. Mediaite NEVER mentions the over-all (TOTAL) viewers when referring to Fox, only the “demo”…..

Strange….It’s like they almost favor the other channels. Heh…Go figure….

  • Michelle

And yet, it’s the most trusted name in NEWS.  Suck on that for a while.

real americans love underdogs and that’s what the other news outlets are

    “Nearly 1M…”, but not quite.

Close only counts in horseshoes (and grenades).

FNC dominated on July 27th, (and 26th, 25th….28th..29th…for 15 years in a row now).

FNC dominates because people want both sides of the story and the ONLY place to get that is FNC; the rest are all just talking horses/dogs/mutts for team Obama.

  • ra111

sorry to burst your bubble, but even chris wallace admitted they give the OTHER side of the story
if you think they give both sides of a story and are balanced, YOU might not be balanced

I think it is hilarious that Live with Al Sharpton is getting similar ratings to Chris Matthews yet people in journalism still ask if HE GOT THE JOB BECAUSEOF  HIS RACE! Al Sharpton happens to be better than Cenk Uygur, who was atrocious! AGGGHHHHHH

The title of this story is “PIERS MORGAN LEADS ALL CNN SHOWS”

To make that more clear to the rest of you ignorant morons, this article is talking about CNN shows, not ALL of the shows on ALL of the networks.

If you really want people to think that you aren’t stupid, then at least learn how to read!

  • jon

morgan news….no  maddow news….no   behar news…not even close    ORielly has more news than these three shows if you combine them
