Scarborough: ‘Stunning’ That Hillary Clinton Still Lying About Server
MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough called out Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton Tuesday for continuing to say things about her email sever that everyone knew wasn’t true.
“I never sent or received any classified e-mail, nothing marked classified, and I think it will all sort itself out. In a way, it’s kind of an interesting insight into how the government operates, because if I had not asked for my e-mails all to be made public, none of this would have been in the public arena,” Clinton said in an interview Monday with an Iowa radio host.
“Mika, it’s stunning she would say that, when absolutely none of that is true,” Scarborough said. “Everybody that’s followed it for more than ten seconds knows that what she’s saying is not true. And last night, Clinton called the investigations– said it was about partisan politics, ‘Not about e-mails or servers. It’s about politics.'”
“Really?” he asked. “Is that what you’re telling the IG of the Justice Department and the IG of the State Department, and the IG of the intel agencies? It’s breathtaking.”
Co-host Mika Brzezinski read from Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson’s most recent column: “I wish Hillary Clinton would be respectful enough to say, ‘I’m sorry. I was wrong.’ I wish she wouldn’t insult our intelligence by claiming she only did what other secretaries of state had done. I wish she would explain why, after turning over to the State Department the e-mails she deemed work-related, she had the server professionally wiped clean.”
“I wish that some of these politicians would stop thinking the American people are so stupid,” Brzezinski agreed.
“I think my colleague Gene Robinson nailed it,” said Washington Post columnist David Ignatius. “This is a self-inflicted wound. She has nobody to blame but herself. The question is whether she can apologize to the American people. These are mistakes, serious mistakes, especially the ones involving classified information. If she can do it convincingly, I think she can deal with this.”
