SNL Mocks Bill O’Reilly’s Interview WIth President Obama Before The Super Bowl

video

Saturday Night Live”started off with Jason Sudeikis as Bill O’Reilly, who recapped his own interview with President Obama last Sunday. The interview, O’Reilly reminded us, was the “most watched in history,” though O’Reilly is probably the only person in the world who thinks that was the most exciting thing to happen on Superbowl Sunday.

The sketch also reprised Fred Armisen’s extremely uneven Obama impression. He might as well have not been there at all, though, as he was repeatedly interrupted by O’Reilly, who offered us his own brand of folksy political analysis. Like all presidential interviews, this one included “Culture Quiz” and “Viewer Mail” segments, as well as plugs for “O’Reilly Factor” merchandise .

Much better than the real Bill O’… Who I find to border the land of deep retardation.

    Was that Angela Mackris?

That girl that came in was hot. Young and innocent, just like Bill likes them, I’m sure. They should have called her Andrea Mackris, just to poke a little extra fun at Billo the retard.

His O’Reilly is a bit uneven, but still pretty funny.

In more meaningful, relevant news, Mitch McConnell said Obamo’s agenda is ‘Over’ and accuses the radical Leftist President of doing ‘Clintonian back flips’ in order to appear more ‘moderate’ than he really is. But to all the Obamo breast-feeders here, please do continue your charade of pretending that he’s not getting his ASS KICKED each and every day.

    Dear mediaite:

Stories about lefties attacking FNC and it’s personalities no longer have any news value, they no only have any humor value….they are a dime a dozen and boring as all get out.

Please expand your horizons, or use your lefty connections and tell SNL, Maher, MSNBC and the rest of the loons that bashing anything FNC is a borefest.

    Thanks,

Your repetitive, robotic like comments where you praise and protect your little FNC while bash every other, higher rated, MSM network is getting boring…..comments like yours are a dime a dozen and boring as all get out.

Please expand your horizons, or tea your fellow tea partiers and extreme right wing friends that protecting a news channel, which has no direct impact on your life, is not only a borefest for us readers…but also signals deeper issues that you need to take care of.

SNL is pathetic. They are just utterly incapable of making fun of Obama. They also seem to have not seen the interview and instead just applied the typical liberal caricature of O’Reilly to the event.

SNL used to care about getting laughs. Now they only care about getting applause from their liberal audience. Further evidence that New York has become a political backwater whose residents don’t know a single moderate, let alone a conservative.

  • bobmoses

“comments like yours are a dime a dozen and boring as all get out.”

Yeah, as opposed to this brilliant and thoughtful comment from you:

“Please expand your horizons, or tea your fellow tea partiers and extreme right wing friends that protecting a news channel, which has no direct impact on your life, is not only a borefest for us readers…but also signals deeper issues that you need to take care of.”

Yeah, no liberal has ever bleated that ignorant hate speech before. Not only are you boring and unoriginal, but you are also an incredible hypocrite.

Trust me, you are everything that you claim to hate, just the liberal version of it.

  • Obeezy

If Obama was a republican..(ha ha) That is funny, well if he was, SNL would have field day every week with his gaffes and missteps, gafaws, blunders, howlers, flounders, oversightes, slip ups, stumbles, flummoxes, snafus and and just all around trickery

O’Reilly milked the hell out of his Obama interview, so I would’ve been disappointed if they hadn’t done this satire. However, what the hell is Fred Armisen still doing impersonating Obama? He’s just downright awful at it, he might as well go on camera with a big friggin’ stamp on his forehead.

  • TangledThorns

    Pretty funny.

Let them be; it’s the only bullet they have left in their gun. Even though they hate guns.

  • ImNotBlue

Meh. The concept was there, and the potential was there… but (as with so much of SNL these days) the execution just wasn’t there. Notice that the audience never really gets into it.

There were a few moments that gave me chuckle, but no real belly laughs. I guess this would be “par” for SNL, so forgive me for still somehow expecting more.
    ___________

As for the above comments, we’ve got two “retards,” and a “stupid.” Throw in a “Nazi,” and the angry left will go back to hypocritically complaining that the right is “mean.” Of course, they don’t care what the SNL segment was about, have rarely actually watched FNC, and simply rely on their hateful talking points when talking about FNC. It must be nice to always have something to say… very comforting… even when you don’t know what you’re taking about.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ed-Lascar/100000889579338 Ed Lascar

Unfunny…sad satyre of the interview…because it has no real jabs. The dialogues’ author was stressing just the leftists view of O’Reilly …in their quirked way to see Fox News.

  • http://www.zazzle.com/talkingpoints NORBIT Jr.

    Pathetic.

Not even funny – what, has SNL had a dozen funny shows in the last two decades? – and it can’t make the progressives feel too good!

Ok, so it was only 1/2 pathetic.
    lol

  • notsofast

The sketch also reprised Fred Armisen’s extremely uneven Obama impression. ”

The how thing was uneven and bad. Neither sounded like the person they were impersonating and the audience’s silence was deafening.

Even worse, they mischaracterized O’Reilly’s take on Mubarak.

ORielly didn’t have quite enough swagger , but the lady confirming his mistake was hilarious. Bill’s a smart guy with access to information and I just shake my head when he makes some bullshit claim and says they looked it up and it’s true.

I really like GOP senator Tom Coburn. Very intelligent, very little bullshit that I’ve seen. Willing to work with the facts rather than political hype. We need more like him on both sides of the aisle . Sadly he’s stepping down.
He was asked a question in a town hall about people going to jail for not buying health insurance and he said , that’s not the intention of the law and it just makes for good TV news for Fox.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILYOM85cOnY really like Tom in this clip asking for debate on the facts rather than rumors and spin, reminding people that those you disagree with are not enemies and still can be good people with good intentions.
Later he was on ORielly and ORielly said , that NEVER happened on Fox, because he checked and it never happened. You’d think ORielly and folks on Fox have the resources to actually check that stuff out. Turns out ORielly was wrong wrong and very wrong. Beck even said it on his own show.

Of course later Bill tries to explain it away, after being busted and doesn’t quite get there.

yikes, unfunny and the impressions were truly bad. How bad were the sketches that WERE cut? Both Obama and O’Reilly have very distinct speaking styles that should be EASY to do. You don’t have to be Dana Carvey, but should at least make an effort. SNL needs to work on the FNC impressiona, only Greta one is well done!

  • Paleoconservatarian

I don’t usually watch SNL clips, but for some reason had hope for this bit. What a way to waste a situation ripe for comedic mining. Comedy is most funny when it’s based in or parody’s a reality, but as usual, the writers opted to push their politics. Sudeikis’ impression isn’t all that bad, but though there’s material to be had, the character is way off. In their rush to portray him as a boob, holding opinions and saying things opposite to what O’Reilly does and has, they miss that what they could be poking fun.

What’s worse, Fred Armisen just sat there playing some hapless victim. Just as the left viewed Obama, I suppose. Hapless. I guess two years in there still nothing funny about Obama. The writers treat him as a king of England, so reticent are they to even mildly lampoon the most basic character fault or quirk. Those NY cocktail parties must mete out serious consequences indeed.

A lame skit. Even the audience was underwhelmed.

The whole interrupting thing was overblown. Some YouTube person claimed Bill interrupted Obama 48 times. However, through careful editing, what wasn’t made clear was that Bill was considered to have “interrupted” Obama even if he started to say something just before Obama finished a comment and even if Bill was simply agreeing or affirming what Obama was saying! I watch Bill’s interview with George Bush from November and, if I used this standard to determine an interruption, then Bill “interrupted Bush over twenty times!

So apparently Bill is disrespectful to either a Democratic or a Republican President! And please don’t try to differentiate things with a “current’ verus “prior” President argument.

Bill is a talking head, opinion-oriented, info-tainer. Same as all the others. He has his style of interviewing. Frankly, Obama seemed to enjoy the back-and-forth style.

As usual the FOX ‘news’ brainwashed zombies are here defending against a comedy show!

Enjoyed the clip and the mockery of the following O’Reilly idiosyncrasies:

BO’s penchant for never (or seldom) admitting he’s wrong.
BO’s constant hawking of Factor Gear.
BO’s least entertaining segment for any week – the inane Culture Quiz
BO’s preoccupation with ratings and his false assertion that it was “the most watched interview (if you include the Super Bowl) of all time”.
BO’s over use of childish adjectives like “clown” and “pinhead”
The use of his ‘hot’ assistant and sycophant to never question the accuracy of the fragile ego of her boss ‘n chief.
His constant insistence that the whole world (with the possible exception of San Francisco) revolves around him and his bloated ego.

Remember when SNL was concerned that the media was being too friendly to Obama? They totally lost interest in that subject after Obama won the nomination.

Ditto for me. The Stefon bit was actually hilarious and well-written. The BOR overture was silly, inaccurate [BOR didn't interrupt except when Obummer lurched into filibuster mode or tried to run out the clock], and looked underrehearsed. Armisen looked like he didn’t want to be there, but Obummer’s talk with BOR looked like he was engaging and fully glad to be there.

SNL’s quality control has been sadly very poor recently, but if they could stop Wiig’s hyperventilating and put that hottie Singles girl who got Russell all het up plus the DJ who played the Taster more time, they’d pull SNL out of the doldrums.

  • Tedderman

A totally unrealistic portrayal of the real interview. O’Reilly actually interupted the President 42 times in his 15 minutes of shame. But hey, it could have been worse, he might have gone all Brent Baeiry on him.
