Watch Ricky Gervais Tell Conan O’Brien Which Golden Globes Joke Got Cut

Ricky Gervais has received a ton of attention for his allegedly caustic style of hosting the Golden Globes Sunday night. Some even found his comedic lack of civility directed to the celebrities in attendance quite entertaining, making another dreadful awards showmore palatable. Turns out that Gervais wanted to open the show with a sight gag that the show’s producers found far too controversial to allow it to go on as planned. Fortunately, during an appearance on TBS’ Conan O’Brien show, Mr. Gervais revealed the gag.

The following segment aired last week in advance of the Golden Globes. Watch the clip below courtesy of TBS below:

What is it with these tiny British chubs and them wearing tight little v-neck t-shirts?

Gervais is at his best when he doesn’t take himself so seriously. When he tries to bring his social messages over the pulpit, he seems to fall flat (the invention of lying as one example). I am loving this rampage that he’s on through Hollywood. He is on Fire!!!

Golden Globes got its biggest ever ratings and we all know ratings talk. I wouldn’t be suprised if he was back to host next year. Lets face it, downey jr and Jane seymour were the only ones that objected. 95% of the controversy has come from the media, stirring the pot. Don’t forget Gervais’ career is based on controversy, he feeds off it. He aint going anywhere. Gervais, the typical Brit, is able to laugh at himself, which is a priceless attribute to have in comedy. Its about time someone stuck it to the man in Holywood!
