Anthony Weiner, who has been contending with pressure to step down from political office as details surrounding his “sexting” scandal continue to emerge, announced his decision to leave office today at a press conference.

Sources informed Fox News that the former congressman had convened with big names within his party, such as Democratic Congressional Committee Chairman Steve Israel and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, before ultimately coming to a decision. Earlier today, we reported that Weiner had already announced his decision to his close friends and colleagues.
