A hostage situation at Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles has been resolved.
It all started on Saturday afternoon with a shooting involving an elderly woman and others. The suspect then took off in a car, where he was pursued by police.
After crashing near a Trader Joe’s, the still unnamed suspect ran inside where he reportedly held people hostage before eventually surrendering to police.
One woman was hospitalized in fair condition. It is still unclear how many people were inside the store at the time of the standoff.

A woman was hospitalized after a possible hostage situation erupted inside a Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles on Saturday. It is unclear at this point if any hostages remain inside.
Los Angeles police reported a possible hostage situation at a Trader Joe’s grocery store in Hollywood Saturday.
A suspect being pursued by police crashed his vehicle, got out and ran into the store on Hyperion Avenue in the Silver Lake neighborhood, LAPD Officer Mike Lopez told CNN.
Lopez said customers ran out of the Trader Joe’s. Police were still trying to determine whether there are any hostages inside the store.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said a 20-year-old female patient has been transferred to a hospital in fair condition. She was removed from a vehicle, not the inside of the store, Stewart said.
“We are on standby and prepared to support but no confirmation how many patients may be inside,” Stewart added.
The LAPD also tweeted out: “There is an active police incident at the Trader Joe’s near the intersection of Hyperion Ave and Griffith Park Blvd in #Silverlake. Please stay clear of the area. A Public Information Officer is responding and more information will be released as it becomes available.”
The situation is still on-going with an unknown number of persons still inside.
As of just before 8 pm (ET) a young hostage was released.
Update: President Donald Trump has responded to the hostage situation.
