Elon Musk ‘Quite Happy’ to Make Up With Trump, Ben Shapiro Spills

Reunited and it feels so good. Ben Shapiro revealed Elon Musk told him he was “quite happy” to reunite with President Donald Trump at the Charlie Kirk memorial service on Sunday night — a moment that was quickly picked up by the TV broadcast and shared across social media, including by the White House’s official X account.

Shapiro shared the details during the Monday episode of his eponymous show. The Daily Wire co-founder was recapping his time at the memorial service, which he said was emotionally “overwhelming,” when he briefly touched on the rekindled Musk-Trump relationship.

“I got a chance to say hello to Elon afterward, and he was quite happy, obviously, that he and the president have made up,” Shapiro said.

A moment earlier, the conservative commentator said the Trump-Musk moment was one of the “big takeaways” from the event. He then walked his viewers through the footage, noting:

“They made nice. I was located about 20 feet away, down to the left over here, so I got to see this in real time, which was fun. And [UFC CEO] Dana White is sitting on the other side of President Trump here.”

He was not the only one who thought it was a big deal. The White House shared the following picture of Trump and the ex-DOGE boss:

And a clip of Kirk predicting Musk and Trump would get along again after their recent public spat went viral soon after the world’s most powerful man and the world’s richest man were spotted together on Sunday. Wall Street did not seem to mind the reunion, either, with Tesla’s stock price continuing its recent run, climbing about 1.9% by late Monday afternoon.

The Trump-Musk pairing stood out, of course, to anyone who has been following their relationship this year. Musk appeared to be on good terms when he exited the White House at the end of May — Trump even presented him with a gold key to the White House on his final day.

Things soured soon after, with Musk accusing Trump of withholding files on Jeffrey Epstein because the president was named in them. Musk also threatened to launch a new political party, less than a year after publicly supporting President Trump in the 2024 election and only months after working for his administration. Trump, in turn, threatened Musk’s government contracts.

But the Musk-MAGA relationship has seemed to thaw recently, though — with the Wall Street Journal reporting Musk preferred getting closer to Vice President JD Vance than starting his new party.

Shapiro, during his Monday episode, touched on a number of the speakers at Sunday’s service, which was held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. He praised Erika Kirk for her moving speech, and also complimented Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Donald Trump Jr. for their comments; both men discussed faith and politics well simultaneously, Shapiro said, which was “fitting,” he added, considering how well Kirk blended the two.

President Trump also received kudos from Shapiro for his partial “stand-up” routine, which Shapiro said added a nice bit of levity to a “heavy” day.
