‘All My People Are Getting Attacked!’ Selena Gomez Breaks Down in Tears Over Immigration Raids

Actress Selena Gomez posted a video of herself in tears on Monday reacting to ICE raids being conducted across the country.
Throughout much of his campaign, President Donald Trump promised mass deportations to address illegal immigration in the United States. Almost immediately after he was sworn in, federal authorities began detaining immigrants — many of them Latin American — in multiple cities across the country.
The countries of those who have been detained, however, have been reluctant to work with the U.S. to accept them back. Colombia, for example, initially rejected incoming planes of deported immigrants. The president eventually caved and offered to pick up the immigrants using his own plane.
On Monday, Gomez — who is Mexican — was overcome with emotion after taking in the news.
“I just want to say that I’m so sorry,” Gomez said in the video posted on her Instagram story. “All my people are getting attacked! The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything. I promise.”
Gomez deleted the video shortly after posting it. Mediaite has reached out for comment.
