WATCH: Alton Brown Makes Anti-Climactic Bananas Foster On GMA

The eighth season of Food Network Star starts up this weekend with a casting special, followed by the premiere on Monday night, and judge Alton Brown stopped by Good Morning America this morning to give George Stephanopoulos the scoop on the revamp. Of course, the two also cooked up some rather anti-climactic bananas foster for the Times Square audience — George couldn’t light the bourbon for the flaming finale. The dessert was actually the dish Alton used to audition his crop of contestants this year on Food Network Star.

Of note: this season boasts a new mentoring format in which the judges choose and groom their own cheftestants.
