Katz’s Deli Is Flooded
This morning, a water main broke on Houston Street in Manhattan, flooding the entire street and making the famous Katz’s Deli look strangely as if it were floating on water.
DNAInfo reports that firefighters are trying to keep the restaurant’s basement from flooding, and while they were forced to cancel some deliveries this morning, Katz’s will somehow, improbably, stay open in the long term. “We’ll be back. Nobody can resist what we have. People will swim through water to get our corned beef and pastrami,” John James, 65, told the website.
