Joe Rogan Rages Against Democratic Socialists: ‘It’s Real Simple… You’re Going to Have a Military That Controls Everything’

Joe Rogan slammed democratic socialists for being absolutely clueless about Marxist policies, which he said would put the United States on the road to ruin if they were ever implemented on a national scale.

Rogan went off on socialism during the Wednesday episode of his podcast. He said the whole ideology can be summarized in two words: “It sucks!”

But before he crystalized his take, he told guest Steve Hilton — the Republican gubernatorial candidate in California backed by President Donald Trump — he believed American socialists are mostly just impressionable bozos who have had their brains warped by social media “manipulation.”

“People are really [arguing], ‘Oh maybe being socialist is cool.’ Like, this is all coming out of social media. 100%,” Rogan said. “It’s not natural that people are sitting around reading Marx and going, ‘What a great idea, let’s implement this.’ They’re not doing that.”

“Very few of these quote unquote Marxists that you find on social media are even aware of the consequences, the historical consequences of these strategies and what it ultimately leads to,” Rogan vented.

He continued, “It’s like checkers, it’s like real simple: you’re going to have a military that controls everything you do! As soon as you give up everything to the state, well the state has the guns and you have nothing and they tell you what to do.”

“Exactly! Exactly!” Hilton backed him up.

Hilton then pointed to the state-run grocery stores being pushed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. He said he has firsthand experience shopping at socialist grocery stores because he used to visit his grandmother, who lived behind the Iron Curtain in Hungary. Hilton wasn’t a fan.

“It’s just terrible!'” he told Rogan.

Rogan added he felt capitalism is “brutal,” but he doesn’t believe socialism is the answer. Instead, he said he was in favor of robust “social safety nets” for people like single moms who lose their jobs and need money to feed their kids. But he also said he worried about the flip side, where if the safety nets are too cushy it leads to people having “zero ambition.”

His take comes a few weeks after he ranted socialism was “f*cking nuts.” 

It also follows a handful of democratic socialists winning Democratic primaries in recent months.

Two of those candidates in New York — Darializa Avila Chevalier (D) and Claire Valdez (D) — are card-carrying members of the Democratic Socialists of America, just like Mamdani.

 Beyond its socialist economic agenda, the DSA website said it is against Trump’s “racist immigration policies” and America being allied with Israel, which it said has committed a “genocide” in Gaza.

Trump has ripped the socialists and socialism plenty of times lately, including when he said communism is a “cancer” that must be dealt with ASAP during his Fourth of July address.

He issued a similar warning during a July speech in Georgia. Trump said it is really simple to understand: “With communism, everything turns to sh*t!”

Trump and Rogan are on the same page, it appears.
