Biden Launches Heavy Attack On the Supreme Court at Glitzy LA Fundraiser: Never Been a Court ‘So Far Out of Step’

President Joe Biden attacked the Supreme Court at a glitzy fundraiser in Los Angeles Saturday — arguing there has “never been a Court that’s so far out of step” in U.S. history.

According to the pooled reporters (via Politico) covering the star-studded event, Biden sounded off about the court — warning that the potential replacement of Justices by former President Donald Trump, should he win the 2024 election, is “one of the scariest parts” about a second Trump term.

“The idea that if he’s reelected he’s going to appoint two more flying flags upside down,” Biden said — in an apparent reference to Justice Samuel Alito.

Biden made his remarks during a conversation with former President Barack Obama — which was moderated by ABC late night host Jimmy Kimmel. The ABC host asked Biden if that was the scariest part of a second Trump term.

“It is one of the scariest parts,” Biden said. He added, “The Supreme Court has never been as out of kilter as it is today, I mean never.”

There have been a new round of attacks on the Court as this term’s decisions have begun to come out. Multiple Democratic members of Congress have questioned the Court’s legitimacy. Biden didn’t go that quite far in front of the A-List audience, but his comments about the Court will certainly generate discussion.

In addition to Kimmel, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, Jason Bateman, Jack Black, Kathryn Hahn and Sheryl Lee Ralph were among the other stars who spoke during the event.
