BREAKING: Suspect in Custody After Two Injured in ‘Incendiary Device’ Attack at NYC Building That Houses ICE, FBI

A suspect is in custody after allegedly throwing an incendiary device at Federal Plaza in New York City, which houses the FBI and ICE.

FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on social media, “This morning an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza in New York. The individual is in custody and two minor injuries reported thus far. FBI JTTF is investigating the incident.
@NewYorkFBI”

CNN’s Gloria Pazmino reported, “We should say that no one has been injured as a result of this incident, which happened right outside of 26 Federal Plaza in lower Manhattan. This is home to ICE offices, the federal court, immigration court. And it’s right downtown in the Federal Complex where the courts and the criminal court is also located.”

Pazmino said the device was believed to have been made up of “fireworks and a flammable liquid.”

“That’s according to a law enforcement source. We also understand that a person was taken into custody immediately after the smoke started going off.

In a brief statement, the FBI said, “This morning an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza. The individual has been taken into custody. And the FBI New York office is investigating the incident.”

“Even though no one was injured, thankfully, so far, there was a shelter in place order that went into effect for those that were inside the building,” Pazmino said.

The New York Post reported that the man was armed, and threatening people walking by on the street after setting off fireworks at the building.
