Democrat’s AI Campaign Ad Mocks GOP Rival for Taking Policy ‘Prompts’ From Trump: ‘As Fake as I Am!’

Democratic congressional candidate Esther Kim Varet’s AI-generated actors accused Rep. Young Kim (R-CA) of parroting policy “prompts” dictated by President Donald Trump and corporate interests in a mocking, tech-savvy ad.

The ad features AI avatars that appear to be powered by Google DeepMind’s latest video model, Veo 3, that troll Kim for being “as fake” as they are and following “prompts” from Trump on how to vote on bills.

Clips made by Veo 3 engine, launched by Google this week, have flooded the internet with hyper-realistic and cinematic videos that include dialogue, soundtrack, effects, and mimic the physics and logic of real-world filmmaking. The engine is the company’s most advanced video-generation model yet.

On Monday, Varet unveiled the spot, the first ad of her 2026 campaign to flip California’s 40th district. Varet’s new ad trolls her rival’s claim of being a “moderate” candidate and lets the avatars themselves call her out.

“I’m a fake person made by AI prompts. I may look real and sound real, but there’s nothing authentic about me,” one fake AI character begins. “In that way, I’m a lot like Young Kim.”

Another avatar continues: “She pretends to be balanced, but she’s almost as fake as I am, and I’m made of prompts.”

Introducing the video in a post on X, Varet argued: “We need real people representing us in Congress – not fake moderates like @RepYoungKim.”

“Appreciate any donations (link in bio) to help us pay for broadcasting this ad on Fox News and other networks!” she added.
