Ex-Fox Newser Janice Dean Slams Network Over Andrew Cuomo Appearance, Suggests She’s Ready to Spill Dirt

Fox News' Janice Dean

Former Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean took a swipe at her longtime employer on Tuesday after a social media user told her Andrew Cuomo, a public nemesis of hers, appeared on the network.

Notably, Cuomo appeared on Fox Business Network, not Fox News, on Tuesday.

Dean officially retired after 22 years with Fox News in late June as she continues to battle multiple sclerosis, having taken time off to attend to her health in late 2025.

Dean became well-known during the Covid pandemic for her fierce criticism of then-New York Governor Cuomo (D). Dean’s in-laws died in the Spring of 2020 from Covid and she has long accused government policies of contributing to their deaths.

“It’s been four years of trying to get answers, accountability, apologies, investigations, answers for the thousands of elderly that died,” Dean said on the 4-year anniversary of their deaths. “This is Thanksgiving, and we’re missing two seats at the table again, and it’s frustrating to know that he is going to run for office without having to really answer questions about his deadly leadership, about his failed leadership.”

On Tuesday, a social media user reached out to Dean, writing, “@JaniceDean WHAT A SLAP IN THE FACE TO SEE CUOMO ON FOX THIS MORNING! I’m Sorry!”

She replied, “Yup. Not surprised at all. Grateful I’m not there.”

Another user added a reply, saying, “I cant stand Fox…a bunch of phonies..you and I disagreed a couple times when you worked there and I criticized them …im glad we’re on the same page now.”

Dean responded, writing, “I’m free now.”

“Someday I’ll tell you all the story of how I was banned to talk about Andrew Cuomo after I spent years speaking out about what he did to seniors during COVID,” she later posted to her feed.

“I have many, many, many stories. Sometimes I can’t believe the stuff I’ve been through. But I’m free now,” she added, hinting that she plans to spill some dirt in the future.

In a later exchange, another user wrote, “When he was running for Mayor of NYC and FOX was basically endorsing him I thought WTH…what about Janice?!?!” Dean replied, “Yes. Muzzled.”

Cuomo rep Rich Azzopardi offered a statement in response to Dean’s Tuesday statements, saying, “All COVID deaths are just as tragic now as they were six years ago, but this issue has been exhaustively investigated by the DOJ IG, the NY Attorney General, an outside investigator hired by NY state, among others. Every credible inquiry found New York’s guidance was consistent with federal guidelines, and Ms. Dean’s family’s own lawsuit was dismissed at every level, including by the U.S. Supreme Court, which declined to consider it earlier this year.”
