FBI Using Hundreds of Analysts to Investigate 2020 Election in Major Resource Surge: Report

The FBI is assigning hundreds of analysts to dig into its Georgia election probe, with tens of thousands of records needing to be checked in a matter of weeks, according to a new report.

MS NOW’s Ken Dilanian dropped a report on Thursday detailing the resource surge into election fraud probes based on President Donald Trump’s continued claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged. There continues to be no actual proof of the type of widespread fraud he claims there was.

Two officials spoke to MS NOW on the condition on anonymity and they provided documents that show FBI Director Kash Patel ordering personnel from all field offices to participate and overtime, including on holidays, being approved for analysts.

“In support of the Director’s Office priority effort, the Directorate of Intelligence (DI) and Criminal Division are requesting all FBI field offices to immediately surge support to an FBI Atlanta priority investigation,” an unclassified memo reportedly reads.

The effort requires 260 FBI intelligence officials and each analyst is reportedly expected to go through more than 700 pages of documents by July 17.

One of the officials who spoke to MS NOW said analysts could be going through everything from social media posts to personal travel.

“Looking for derogatory information is the short answer. The idea is to build a case. Look at associations between people, look into their social media, their business activity, travel, contact with other investigative subjects,” the official said.

Former President Joe Biden won the state of Georgia in 2020 by more than 11,000 votes. Georgia is one of multiple states Trump claimed he won, and the state has since been at the center of many of his election conspiracy theories.

The FBI seized more than 600 boxes of records in Fulton County in January, and then-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was present during the execution of the search warrant. They obtained ballots, voter rolls, and more as part of the Department of Justice’s continued probes into the 2020 election.

Dilanian broke down his report further during a Thursday morning discussion with Stephanie Ruhle.

He said:

The bottom line up front here is that the Trump administration cannot let go of its obsession with bogus claims of fraud in the 2020 election, and it’s enlisted the FBI to try to substantiate those claims. And we learned about this FBI investigation, obviously, when the FBI raided, pursuant to a court order, Fulton County election facilities and seized 600 boxes of ballots and election records back in January. But this shows that this investigation is very much ongoing.

The new report follows an NBC News report this week on a White House task force being used to gather thousands of documents from intelligence agencies that may help “amplify” Trump’s election fraud claims.

According to the report, which cited five people familiar with the situation, this White House task force is gathering documents related to the 2020 presidential election from the CIA, the National Security Agency, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the FBI and the Justice Department, and those documents may be declassified.

“As the most transparent president in history, President Trump is totally committed to sharing as much information with the public as possible. The administration will continue delivering on the president’s promise of unprecedented transparency,” a White House spokesperson told the outlet.
