Twitter Tesla CEO, and free speech advocate, Elon Musk is on pace to purchase the social media platform Twitter, and the deal could be complete as early as Monday.

This comes from multiple reports over the past 12 hours, including the New York Times report published Sunday, and a new breaking news alert showing talks have advanced further than previously reported.

Bloomberg News reports:

Twitter is in the final stretch of negotiations about a sale to Elon Musk, a person with knowledge of knowledge of the matter said, Bloomberg News reports. The social media company is working to hammer out terms of a transaction and could reach an agreement as soon as Monday if negotiations go smoothly, according to the person.

Musk offered $46.5 billion for the social media giant just days ago after the Twitter board went for a “poison pill” in an effort to block the initial bid to buy the company.

“Twitter is taking a fresh look at the offer and is more likely than before to seek to negotiate, people familiar with the matter said,” the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. “The situation is fast-moving and it is still far from guaranteed Twitter will do so.”
