Multiple U.S. service members were reportedly injured in Iranian attacks on Jordanian bases this week amid fresh U.S. strikes and chaos in the Strait of Hormuz.

CBS News reported on Friday evening several American service members were injured during attacks by Iran on two Jordanian bases. Multiple U.S. officials confirmed the attacks, but remained anonymous as they were not cleared to speak about the attacks.

No fatalities were reported from the attacks; 14 American troops have died since the Iran war started in late February.

The attacks report follows U.S. launching seven straight days of strikes against Iran. A temporary peace deal fell apart after U.S. officials accused Iran of being out of compliance with the terms as they continued targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz, where roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply moves through.

The latest strikes against Iran were launched on Friday evening. Iran previously claimed they struck on sites in Syria, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Jordan, but the U.S. military denied those claims.

President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday the Strait of Hormuz is “open” for everyone except Iran, but concerns have grown about moving ships at all as Iran has upped their attacks.

“It’s open if people want to go through it,” the president previously told Fox News. “We’re not opening it for Iran. That’s the only one it’s closed for. It’s closed for Iran, both in and out, but it’s open now.”

Dimitris Maniatis, CEO of Athens-headquartered Marisks, said this week that ships are facing a “worse case scenario” in the Strait of Hormuz due to concern about what Iran will do to moving ships.

“We see the reduction of the volume of transits through the Strait of Hormuz and right now crews of vessels are even more concerned than they were before,” he said, adding, “No one is willing to move.”
