NBC News to Host Next Republican Presidential Debate in Miami

NBC News announced that they will host the Republican National Committee’s third presidential primary debate at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. The contest is scheduled to take place on Wednesday November 8th from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.
NBC has yet to announce the format and who will serve as moderators, though their announcement follows the two 2024 GOP primary debates that were previously hosted by Fox News. The network’s announcement says the debate will air on its streaming and digital platforms, plus the RNC has also selected Salem Radio Network and the Republican Jewish Coalition as debate partners.
From NBC:
Seven candidates were onstage at the second debate in California last month. It is not clear how many will qualify again, because the Republican National Committee has raised the polling and donor thresholds for the third contest.
To qualify, candidates must have campaign contributions from at least 70,000 unique donors. They must also register at least 4% in two national polls or in one national poll and one early-state poll that meets the RNC’s polling requirements. Qualifying candidates must also pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee.
While NBC isn’t saying who the moderators will be, Puck’s Dylan Byers has reported that they will be Kristen Welker, Lester Holt and Salem Radio’s Hugh Hewitt.
Former President Donald Trump remains the GOP frontrunner, and he has refused to participate in the primary debates so far. Instead, he and his campaign have demanded that all future Republican primary debates for the 2024 race be cancelled so they can focus all of their attention on the former president’s rematch with President Joe Biden.
