A Pod Save America host is calling out MAGA fury over the Charlotte train murder — specifically their outrage over the suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr., being out on the street despite a lengthy criminal record.

Writing on X late Tuesday, Pod Save America’s Jon Favreau mocked the conservative rage with a trolling post that was seemingly criticizing Democrats — but with a twist.

“Real talk: Democrats should just admit that some politicians have been way too lenient in releasing dangerous criminals from prison these last few years.

Just a few of the crimes committed by people they let out early:

– Violent assault
– Sexual assault of a child
– Solicitation of a minor
– Possession of child pornography
– Domestic abuse
– Aggravated DUI and reckless homicide
– Attempted murder
– Stalking
– Burglary”

As it turns out, Favreau was listing off crimes for which Jan. 6-ers pardoned by President Donald Trump were charged with — in most cases — subsequent to the Capitol riot.

Edward Kelley was convicted of conspiring to murder the FBI agents who investigated him in the Jan. 6 case. Emily Hernandez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for driving while under the influence and causing a deadly crash. David Paul Daniel was charged in 2024 with possession of child sex abuse material.

And after receiving their pardons, Zachary Alam and Brent John Holdridge have both been picked up for burglary. Alam was arrested for an alleged home invasion, while Holdridge has been charged in connection with the theft of tens of thousands of dollars in copper wire.

One prominent Republican who fell for the bit was Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). The Texas senator responded to Favreau’s post by writing, “True. But by ‘some politicians’ you mean Obama, Biden & EVERY Democrat in the Senate … the same people you’ve been supporting in every single election.”

Favreau took a victory lap after Cruz responded.

“Senator, thank you for finally criticizing Donald Trump over his Jan 6 pardons,” Favreau wrote. “This is, appallingly, the first time you’ve ever commented on the issue.”
