House Democrat Picks Up a Guitar to Play the Jeffrey Epstein Musical Number No One Asked For

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) picked up a guitar to demand the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files in a cringeworthy musical performance posted to social media Monday night.
While playing to the tune of Jason Isbell’s “Dreamsicle” in his office, Johnson distorted the lyrics to make a point regarding the Epstein files, which Republicans voted against releasing earlier in the day.
“I’m Congressman Hank Johnson coming to give you some more ear candy, or perhaps an earache, but I’m going to do my best off of this Jason Isbell tune, ‘Dreamsicle,'” said Johnson in a social media video posted Monday night.
Read his lyrics here:
Epstein died by suicide
Believe that and you must be blind
You’ve been telling us you’d release the files
but where are they?
We’ve gone along with what’s been told
You’ve had plenty of time
You’re in control
But now you say you will withhold
The Epstein files
Dreamsicle on a summer night
in a folding lawn chair
Trump’s howling at the moon
Release the Epstein files soon.
As is often the case with many other Dems taking time out of their day jobs to film music videos and TikToks, the backlash came hard and swift:
Johnson is no stranger to grabbing a guitar to make a political point. Last month, he laid into President Donald Trump with a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe,” which included the lyrics, “I’m goin’ down to shoot democracy down.”
