The internet is not taking it easy on Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) after the congresswoman boasted that she was going to publish Russian propaganda about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.
In a tweet fired off on Tuesday, Luna wrote:
I have received a hard copy of the report on JFK’s assassination from the Ambassador of Russia. A team of experts is enroute to my office in the morning to begin translation and full review of documents.
We will be uploading as soon as we can.
Thank you again to everyone involved to include the Russian embassy for making this happen. This is of massive historical significance.
The rest of X was as unimpressed by the Russians’ cooperation as it was by Luna.
“This may be the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen a member of Congress do. ‘Please give me your propaganda to publish, foreign adversary!'” mused the Independent Women’s Forum’s Inez Stepman.
“You’re going to crack this case wide open, I know it! Zero chance the Russians are laughing at you,” submitted The Washington Post‘s Marc Thiessen sarcastically.
“Sounds legit,” chimed in the similarly facetious Michael Tracy.
And there was plenty more where that came from.
